Is it really Pro-Farmer Budget or Election Centric Budget??


        Union Budget has been delivered by our FM Arun Jaitley. Discussions have been going on about the advantages and disadvantages of this year’s union budget. Influence of the upcoming elections can be clearly seen on the budget. Since this is the last budget of NDA in this term, they’ve finally considered the problems of the farmers and have given much importance to agriculture and rural sector.
    We all know that Agriculture is the backbone of Indian economy. Almost 70% of India’s population can be found in rural area. This has led to the appeasement of farmers and rural women for the upcoming state and central government elections which can be evidently seen in this year’s budget.


    Some of the most interesting announcements can be listed as:
  • Declaration of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for most of the crops which makes sure that farmers get at least 150% of the money they’ve invested on the crops.
  • Upgrading 22000 rural haats into Gramin Agricultural Markets (GrAM) which will be electronically linked to e-NAM’s which facilitates the farmers to make direct sale to consumers and bulk purchasers. A fund of 2000 crore will be allotted in this regard.
  • Operation Green shall be launched which promotes Farmer Producers Organizations (FPOs), agri-logistics, processing facilities and professional management and a total of 500 crore will be allocated for this purpose.
  • Free LPG connection to 8 crore poor women.
  • Construction of 2 crore toilets under Swacch Bharat Mission.
  • Ground water irrigation scheme will be taken up.

               Overall, Government’s emphasis will be on generating higher incomes for farmers, by helping them produce more with lesser cost and in turn, earn higher income or their produce. This is a newer approach towards the development of agricultural sector by the government which is appreciable.



    Let us hope all these proclamations by the government actually come in to action and yield what they claim. Let this not be another budget which only mollifies people keeping in mind the fast approaching election. Let the government achieve all what they’ve stated and retain the faith of the people.
    After all, as Abraham Lincoln once stated “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.”

ನಮಸ್ತೆ!  ಮೊದಲೇ ಹೇಳಿಬಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ! ನಾನು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಅದಮ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವ ಹಿಂದೂ! ಹಾಗಂತಹ, ನಾನು ಧರ್ಮದ ಅಫೀಮು ತಿಂದು ಅಂಧಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿರುವವಳೂ ಅಲ್ಲ! ಅಥವಾ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಧರ್ಮವೂ ಒಂದೇ ಎಂದು 'ಮಾನವತಾ ಧರ್ಮ' ದ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತವನ್ನು ಅಸಹಾಯಕವಾಗಿ ಅಪ್ಪಿ ಕುಳಿತವಳೂ ಅಲ್ಲ! ಬದಲಾಗಿ, ಸರಳವಾದ, ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ನಂಬಿ ನಡೆಯುವ, ಮೂರು ಹೊತ್ತೂ 'ಭೈರವ' ಎಂದು 'ಭೈರವಿ' ರಾಗವನ್ನು ಗುನುಗುನಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೇನಾಗಬಹುದೋ ಅದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ನನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಒಮ್ಮೊಮ್ಮೆ ನಾನಿದ್ದು ಬಿಡುವ 'ಸಪ್ತರ್ಷಿ'! ಅಷ್ಟೇ! ನೋಡಿ! ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಧರ್ಮದ ಕಟ್ಟುಪಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು, ಆಚರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು, ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವದಿಂದ ಕಾಣುವವಳಷ್ಟೇ! ಒಮ್ಮೊಮ್ಮೆ ನನ್ನ ಧರ್ಮದ ಹುಡುಗರು 'ಹಿಂದುತ್ವ'ದ ನೆಪವೊಡ್ಡಿ ಸುಖಾಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಗಲಾಟೆಗಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ! ಹಿಂದೂ ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು ಅನ್ಯಧರ್ಮೀಯ ಹುಡುಗರ ಜೊತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಸಹಜವಾಗಿಯೇ ನಮ್ಮವರಿಗೆ ಕೋಪ ಮೇಲೇರುತ್ತದೆ! ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕನಾಗಿ, ಸಮಾಜದಿಂದಲೂ ಟೀಕೆಗಳ ಸುರಿಮಳೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ! ಶಿವರಾತ್ರಿ ವಿಶೇಷ: ಮಹಾಶಿವ ಕಾಶಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲಿಸಿದ್ದು ಯಾಕೆ??

                                     ಭದ್ರಶ್ರೇಣ್ಯನೆಂಬ ರಾಜನು ವಾರಣಾಸಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನಾಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆತನ ನೂರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಮಹಾಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಯಾದ ದಿವೋದಾಸನು ವಾರಣಾಸಿಯನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅದೇ ಸಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾರ್ವತಿಯನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಹಾದೇವರು ಅವಳ ಸಮಾಧಾನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಾವನ ಮನೆಯಾದ ಹಿಮಾಲಯದ ಗೌರೀಶಂಕರ ಶಿಖರದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದರು. ಶಿವಭಕ್ತರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಭಕ್ತಿಗೀತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಶಿವ-ಪಾರ್ವತಿಯರಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷವಾದರೂ ಪಾರ್ವತಿದೇವಿಯ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಮೇನೆಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಈ ಶಿವಗಣದ ವೇಷಭೂಷಣ-ಲೀಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಲಿತ್ತು.                     ಈ ಲೀಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಪಾರ್ವತೀದೇವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, "ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ! ಇದೇನು ನಿನ್ನ ಗಂಡನ ವೇಷ! ಏನು ಅವನ ಈ ಅನಾಚಾರ ಪರಿವಾರ! ಅಷ್ಟದರಿದ್ರನಾದ ಇವನಿಗೆ ಶೀಲಸದಾಚಾರಗಳಂತೂ ಗೊತ್ತೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಶ್ಶ್! ಸಾಕಾಗಿದೆ ಇವನ ಈ ಡಂಭಾಚಾರ! ಹೆಸರು ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಮಹಾ ಈಶ್ವರ-ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಾಹುಕಾರ. ಆದರೆ ತನಗೂ ಇರಲಿಕ್ಕೂ ಜಾಗವಿಲ್ಲದ ಜನ್ಮದರಿದ್ರ" ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಹಂಗಿಸುತ್ತಲಿದ್ದಳು. ಸ್ವಾಭಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಮಹಾದೇವಿಗೆ ಸ...

ಬದಕೆಂಬುದು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇಷ್ಟೆನಾ ಎನಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತೆ!!ಆದರೆ!!

ಜೀವನ ಎಂದರೇನು?ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳೇನು?ನಾನಂತು ಅರಿಯೆನು...     ಆದರೆ ಈ ವಿಚಾರವಾಗಿ ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಪಟ್ಟಿರುವೆ.ಪಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಕೆಲ ವಿಚಾರಗಳ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡೆ. ಆ ವಿಚಾರಗಳು ಕೇವಲ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ಸುತ್ತದೆ ಪರರಿಗೂ ಹಂಚುವ ಆಸೆ ನನಗೆ.ನಾ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡ ವಿಚಾರಗಳು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸರಿ, ಎಷ್ಟು ತಪ್ಪು ಎನ್ನುವುದ ಅರಿಯೆನು.         ನಾ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೇಳ ಹೋಗುವೆ ಕೆಲ ವಿಚಾರಗಳು.ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ನನ್ನ ಜೀವನದಿ ನಡೆದ ನಿಜ ಘಟನೆಗಳು. ಹಲವು ಅನುಭವದ ಮಾತುಗಳು.ನನಗೆ ಪದಸರಪಳಿಗಳ ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕುವುದೆಂದರೆ ಅತಿ ಪ್ರೇಮ. ಪದಗಳ ಸುಂದರ ಸರಪಳಿಗಳಲಿ ನಾ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡ ವಿಚಾರಗಳ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಾರುವೆನು ಇಂದು.
